I've been in this hobby on-and-off since 2004, cutting my teeth on play-by-post and MUDs before doing my first "real" game circa 2009. I have been the most active since 2014, running and playing a myriad of games, and started professionally running games fall of 2019. I also host and produce an actual play podcast! My other hobbies include boardgaming, martial arts, and writing.
I like to prep to get my thoughts out there, but I'm fully ready to drop all of my notes in favor of something more exciting when game time comes. Once I get a feel for characters, I love, love, *love* doing character-spotlights and character-specific storylines in conjunction with whatever the main plothook might be. I do like player participation in the form of dragging them along to help create a narrative; I don't believe in the GM vs Player mentality, I roll most dice out in the open, and I despite being a professional GM, I don't believe it's solely a GM's "job" to make a game fun. Everyone contributes to the narrative.
I should really describe my playstyle.
