Thanks for taking the time to read this! My name across most sites is TheNerdySimulation, though most people tend to just call me Nerdy (they/them). I have been playing RPGs since I was about 9 years old, and thanks to my overactive imagination I've always been unable to hold back a desire to play make-believe and tell stories. I didn't actually start GMing for other people until my late teens, but my passion caused me to quite rapidly latch on to the position, as well as explore ways to improve my capabilities. I used to constantly make up games all throughout my life, so it wouldn't be a surprise for most who know me well to hear that I started work on my own RPG.
In case it wasn't clear yet, I prefer to explore different systems and settings. Though I've played (mostly as a GM) my fair share of D&D, I have recently decided to put it off entirely and focus on exploring other games and mechanics. "Lead by example" I think is how the saying goes, right?
You may recognize me from other places online, most prominently (as of late) would be in the MCDM community. Also a big fan of the community which LoadingReadyRun has cultivated, though I usually tend to lurk there until DB! I guess this is my way of saying I am quite accepting of anybody, so long as they have the basic human decency to treat others with respect! <3
Over the years I have discovered that I tend towards an improv-heavy style, leaning on my said skill set most of the time as a result of learning that no adventure survives contact with the players. I've ran multiple oneshots where I did basically no prep, ran campaigns with at least half of the sessions being done off the top of my head, and generally when I do prep full things myself, the players tend to (unknowingly) avoid such encounters. This has tended to push me towards a Sandbox style of play, letting the players drive the direction with their characters and the associated desires they possess. Within the past year I have also been pursuing being more and more open to collaborative efforts from the players, going so far as to extend into the setting creation at times.

I don't guarantee I'll definitely be interested in running the system, but be prepared to either offer links where I can get a free explanation of the rules and what feeling/genre that system is aiming to capture, or be able to offer an explanation of it yourself (upon my request).
I will engage with narrative and characters to the level desired by the group. I'm comfortable with exploring more "explicit" themes in whatever manner or amount the group is most comfortable with, and I strive to cultivate an environment at my table where all the players can feel comfortable discussing such things without judgement. I hope to make my table a safe-space for people to explore their feelings in a healthy manner and will usually seek to have pre-campaign sessions where we can discuss things such as tone, content, play-style preferences, lines and veils, etc. as mature human beings! :D
