Roll for Knowledge (Local)/History/Lore!
My name is Benjamin and I have been GMing/playing tabletop RPGs for 5+ years.
I am a Paizo Venture Agent who runs Organized Play/Path/Starfinder Society games in Vernon Hills, IL.
I am in the process of becoming a D&D Adventure League GM.
I am looking to play Society/Adventure League games online!
Please message me if you have any questions about Paizo organized Play/Society games.
I believe the table's player composition and desires are what GMs should adjust to while throwing in their own pizazz to blow away the players' expectations.
I encourage creativity and discussion with players based on what they want to do and so long as things can be explained and/or are reasonable they usually are permissible...but that goes for my NPCs/enemies too!
The majority of my players express satisfaction in their accomplishments, menial or monumental, because no matter the task I ensure there is some struggle to overcome their obstacles.
A balance between combat/exploration/social is ideal but really it depends on the adventure or current status of the party.
If a fight takes a long time then so be it. If you Really want to speak with Every person in the bar, you can. If you feel you must turnover each grain of gravel in a dungeon then by all means I shall allow you to do. It's the GM's task to keep these stretches interesting whether they're important to a mission or not.
