Hello Adventurers, my name is Alexandrite and I am a queer gamer who loves RP and shiny polyhedral objects with various colors.
I've been playing roleplaying games for as long as I can remember; I started with playing epic games of pretend at home and abroad, I then moved into the realm of text based forum RP. Games with published systems and the use of dice followed in the last decade... I play and GM for fun, and I GM professionally at cons and in private.
As a GM I love helping newbies get their footing, especially queer people, women, POC, and folks with other reasons that gaming can be a powerful tool of self exploration that has been kind of.... denied them by gatekeepers. This presents as making safe spaces that respect and warn for triggers and a very accessible and loose-with-rules playstyle.
I run games in many genres so, although RP is a favorite element of mine and combat brings me less joy (still a lot of joy, though), I can run many styles. I love taking tropes that the players love and then tweaking them just ever so slightly into something new, and then pairing it with something old and familiar as well as something new and alien for a triple threat set up, and I'll do this in every session.
One shots are better for my schedule at this time.
I GM and play with a heavy RP focus because my passion is for storytelling and upending the expectations of current modern society through my stories. Subverting traditional mores, reinventing traditional tropes in a new and interesting way, and making worlds where I can see people like me doing powerful and important things.
I want stories: give me improv and character arcs that make you cry and crack up laughing, give me your best voices or (in text based) your most detailed descriptions. I take my time and I hope everyone else does too.
Character creation is my jam. I prefer not to manage magical resources, or ammo, so give me a melee fighter or barbarian and I am good to go!
I main fighters, monks, and barbarians. Usually tieflings or half-orcs
